These torrential monsoon rains are probably the worst the Philippines has ever experienced. Its volume has surpassed that of 2009 storm Ondoy as it brought 472 millimeters of accumulated rainfall from 4:45 pm of August 6 to 3:00 pm of August 7 (Ondoy brought 455 mm of rain in 24 hours—the numbers are very close). It has submerged most of Metro Manila and its nearby provinces, and affected millions of Filipinos causing much damage to their homes and property.

It is difficult to imagine what these families must be going through right now. Imagine losing all your belongings, and at the same time not having access to clean food, water and clothing.

We must do all we can to help. Donate cash, relief goods, used clothes or your time to help our kababayans.

We need to stay strong, but more importantly, we need to help each other out.
