Rustan’s Kiss of Goodwill

1

Our favorite beauty superstore now has a new look. Rustan’s Beauty Source Makati recently presented its newly renovated and brightly lit skincare, makeup, and fragrance counters to its loyal patrons (myself included–I’ve been going here since high school). And what a change it was. I love how luxurious, spacious, and fresh it all looked. Each brand looked inviting–I couldn’t help but stare at what new products were available, and even try them on. Seriously, being there was like every beauty junkie’s dream.

I wasn’t alone in this too–all guests eagerly visited their favorite counters and tried on product after product after product. Each brand gamely entertained the guests too, giving out yummy samples and giveaways to take home. Of course, I had a fun time being a girl amongst my girl friends in the industry. We exchanged tips on our favorite products as well as shared our well-kept beauty secrets. It was a fun night overall.

But the real reason we were all there (apart from celebrating Rustan’s new look) was to launch Rustan’s fundraiser called The Kiss of Goodwill. One part of the beauty store was turned into an exhibit wall where its patrons can display their kiss mark/s and signature–and how it works is, for every kiss mark that is placed on its exhibit wall, Rustan’s pledges to donate 100 pesos to the Red Cross who will in turn help address the needs of Yolanda victims. Celebrities, personalities, bloggers and editors alike all contributed to this wall to help raise money–the wall was practically full after only an hour of being at the event. I think this was a great way of raising awareness and money for the Visayas. Like I keep saying, they can never get enough help.
