Climate change and Haiyan (Yolanda)

Climate change is something we can no longer ignore, as it seems our country is the first to be hit by its effects. It is only expected to worsen each year, as wind speeds of up to 300 kmph are now possible, as are scary storm surges and flooding. Definitely, we cant take this sitting down, as steps need to be taken for action. Preparing for the next big storm is essential, and lets not forget that we also need to find solutions for rebuilding Haiyan/Yolanda-affected areas like Tacloban and Leyte.

As I’ve been blogging continuously in these past two weeks, PHILIPS has started a campaign to promote change and come up with innovative solutions to help the Philippines. P1-million will be used to fund the best and most innovative idea, and this idea can come from you! No doubt we all have solutions in our minds to help our countrymen, and now we actually have the power to help and not just to complain and get angry about the situation. All we have to do is contribute our ideas to Philips, and we can get actual, concrete results. This is our chance to make a difference and help out in the best possible way.

More great news from Philips: those who submit their ideas can also win Philips products (this is indeed a bonus, who doesn’t want to win Philips products?!) So keep those ideas coming, and submit them HERE. Deadline for submission of entries is on December 20 (that’s this Friday), so be sure to share and contribute your ideas before then!

Lets all help to make a change–lets contribute our brightest and most innovative solutions to Philips.
