MAC Cosmetics now in Megamall

I love that MAC Cosmetics always gives us something new to look forward to. Each month it launches one or two exciting limited collections that really dictates beauty trends for months to come. This of course, is on top of their extensive makeup selection they have, most of which are worldwide bestsellers. No doubt, a visit to their store is a joy, as you can find anything and everything that has to do makeup in one space.

So when I was invited to visit the newest MAC Cosmetics store in the Philippines (which is also the biggest one in the country), I immediately said yes. I headed over to Megamall for a quick visit but ended up staying a couple of hours–there are just so many products to try and so little time. I felt like I was in a candy store–haha I found my new happy place! MAC Philippines brand manager Cindy Go and sales executive Odessa Andal gave me the grand tour, as we talked about their bestsellers and newest products and innovations.

MAC

And I got a treat: Odessa (who is also a great makeup artist, by the way) gave me a makeup tutorial/makeover, which I loved! Apparently, all MAC branches offer this service (I can’t believe I didn’t know about this) and we should all take advantage of it! Walk in demonstrations are complimentary, depending on the artist’s availability. But you may request for makeup tutorials on just one look—like learning the art of the classic, neutral, smoky or trendy eye; face shaping—which includes building on your existing look, learning the tools, techniques and contouring/highlighting/blushing formulas you need to create sculpted definition; and learning the art of creating a classic, neutral or dramatic lip. Advanced walk in demos are also available. These explore the products and techniques that can be used to enhance your current look or make it more glamorous. Focus can be on enhancing your features using a neutral palette customized to your skin tone, learning to enhance your natural look with the latest runway trends, or false lash application—this allows you to get customized, trimmed and professionally fitted lashes from MAC.

For makeup application lessons, price is redeemable with products. Here you can have a one-on-one tutorial with a MAC artist or MAC can host a group with a minimum of five persons (required reservation is three days before). Lessons for makeup application is as follows:

  • Makeup in 60: looks for everyday and special occasions delivered by a MAC artist in 60 minutes. (P5,000 worth of products)
  • Bridal and Special Events in 90: wedding day or special occasion makeup custom-created to complement your style or theme (P10,000 worth of products)
  • Theatrical Makeup in 90: which allows you to bring your fantasy, drag or Halloween look to life. (P10,000 worth of products)
  • Makeup in 90: a full makeup tutorial where you learn to master making up your own face (P10,000 worth of products)

Seriously, this is such a great service! I can imagine how fun the makeup application classes would be with the whole barkada–and a plus is, you pay for the classes by buying products! This allows you to get exactly what you need while learning the fundamentals of makeup. If you think of it, the classes are practically free if you’re already planning to buy the products.

I dont think there is a minimum purchase rate, but it would be so hard not to buy anything after getting a makeover haha. 🙂
