My Shipping Cart Experience

It is the last leg of SALE SEASON everywhere in the world, and all my favorite online stores have been slashing their prices everyday! This is the perfect time to shop, as most stores are now on 70%, 75% and even 80% off. I’ve been on my phone non-stop since the sale began (I go through the apps of my favorite stores), checking out good deals and discovering new items on the SALE page. So far, I am incredibly happy with my purchases. I’ve been able to buy the designer items I’ve been eyeing for months at really amazing prices. You really cant beat the prices online. I’ve been able to purchase bags, shoes and clothing that would normally sell for 4x the price here in Manila. I love online shopping!

I have to admit, I don’t really shop like this all the time. I mean I would totally pick out what I like and click CHECKOUT when I’m done shopping but I’d never push through with the transaction. What used to stop me were the expensive shipping costs. It is just too exorbitant to send anything from the U.S. to the Philippines using the store’s courier. Whatever discount I get from the sale is lost to the shipping costs, which is like paying full price for the items I got.

That is all in the past now, because SHIPPING CART is now here! I have been going crazy, shopping and shipping (I am on my third box) and I am so happy whenever my boxes arrive. Seriously, it feels like Christmas, because these are exactly what I want and I was able to buy them at super amazing prices. Ahhhh! It is shopping without guilt, because I got great deals for these wonderful things.

So, of course, I wanted to share my experience with you because surely you are wondering how it works. Shipping Cart is a fairly new online shipping service and still not a lot of people know about it. The service allows you to ship goods from your favorite U.S. online retailers and ship them to your address in the Philippines. My friends have been asking me non-stop about my experience with them, which is why I thought of sharing it here on my blog.

I’ve written a step-by-step guide on how to use Shipping Cart, from logging in to receiving your box. It is so easy!

STEP ONE: When you register for an account at, you get a free Shipping Cart U.S. address and telephone number you can use as your delivery address when you checkout purchases from U.S. online stores. This is the information you’ll use for your shipping details so make sure you get it right. Based on experience, the best shopping sites I’ve ordered from are Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Asos and Shopbop. Unfortunately, Net-a-porter does not allow freight forwarding and Barneys does not allow different countries for your shipping address and credit card info address.

STEP TWO: Once your items are accepted at your Shipping Cart address, they will be queued for processing. Processing consists of inspection, weighing, and photography. Once this process has been completed, you will receive an email that your items are in your Shipping Cart dashboard.

STEP THREE: You may now select which items you want to shop to your preferred Philippine address, how you want to ship (via Air Cargoor Sea Freight), how much you want to insure your shipment (Shipping Cart offers up to US$500 for free), and what safe payment option (Credit Card, LBC Over-the-Counter or Paypal) you prefer.

STEP FOUR: When you’re done paying, your items will be queued for consolidation and shipping. You will receive a tracking number via email once your box ships out, which you can use to know the status of your shipment via the tracking tool on the website.

STEP FIVE: Now all you need to do is wait for your box to arrive to your front door.

I love this service. I have never encountered a problem with Shipping Cart. My packages always arrive in a proper box, and the things inside are arranged neatly and are in excellent condition. I don’t think I would risk buying expensive items if I didn’t trust the company (I would seriously cry if I lost any of my orders), and all the boxes I ordered always arrived right on schedule. I had three boxes sent last year: (1) contained two pairs of shoes with the shoeboxes: P3,096.67, (2) two pairs of shoes, clothes and leather patches: P10,098.98, and (3) three leather purses, a pair of shoes, and vitamins: P13,258.70. It will really depend on the weight of your ordered item and the box that comes with it. 🙂 It took about 2-3 weeks to deliver each box. Just make sure you put in the exact amount/value of the items so if it gets lost you will be refunded fairly. Thanks!
