Go Luntian!

I know how difficult it is to find all-natural, organic, locally-grown and eco-friendly products. Most of the time, going green means having to spend more as you’ll need to pay exorbitant prices at specialized stores or have a box sent from the United States or Australia just to get clean and healthy products. Well, that is all in the past now as I’ve discovered Go Luntian!, an online site/store that promotes a whole-food and plant-based lifestyle.

Go Luntian is a one stop online shop where people can buy all their organic, long shelf life, everyday needs without paying a fortune for them. Most of the items sold here are proudly Filipino made, so not only are you getting fresh items but you’ll also be helping local farmers and producers by purchasing these products. We tend to forget that the Philippines is abundant in natural resources and that we actually have many local and indigenous medicinal and herbal plants that we can use everyday. On the site are local products that help us maintain a healthy and wholesome lifestyle and are yummy, too!

I’ve sampled some of their products and found that they are quite good, and are great alternatives for the usual everyday products that aren’t so healthy. Here are some of the items I’ve tried:

Clockwise from top: (1) 7 Grains Skinny Seasoning – it’s my first time to try a local brand that offers a healthy substitute to condiments and I am happy to try this with my everyday recipes. It tastes just like your regular soy sauce–rich and full-flavored, but this is certified non-GMO, gluten-free, low calorie, no preservatives, no artificial coloring, no alcohol, and contains amino acids and anti-oxidants. (2) 7 Grains Skinny Tomato Ketchup – another favorite of mine. This has a smoky flavor to it (almost like sweet barbecue sauce) but has the tangy flavor of tomato ketchup. The is really good with burgers! (3) Tsaa Laya Lemon Ginger – I am sick right now (I have colds and cough) so this has been soothing to my itchy throat. Add honey for sweetness. (4) Casa de Lorenzo Dark Castile Soap – made with olive oil, virgin coconut oil, palm oil, alkali and ground coffee beans, this is as close to natural as you can get with soap. Plus, it has a delicious coffee scent to perk you up in the morning. (5) Tsaa Laya Arvensis Mint – another tea I’ve been enjoying lately. This mint version tastes great! (5) Simone’s Original Snacks Salt & Lemon Okra – I have to admit, this is a little on the tough side (it involves a lot of chewing), but after your third okra you will start to enjoy it. I tried it with the Skinny Tomato Ketchup and liked it even more.
