How a new furniture system helped me organize my new home

If you’ve been following me on Instagram you’ll know that my little family and I recently moved to a bigger space. Carlos and I found this nice old house by chance, and when we went inside we immediately saw its potential and got it. It was built a few decades ago so it has huge rooms with high ceilings (my favorite thing about it). The only downside is that it has limited closet space, so I’ve been struggling to find places for all my things.

As a result, I’ve been looking for closet space solutions and have spent my weekends canvasing home storage stores, carpentry shops and online sites with little to no luck. I mean, yes, I’ve found really nice closets and storage organizers but they were either too expensive or require a team of really smart people to build (I am really bad at building furniture and I didn’t want to bug Carlos as he’s been so stressed with this move). And just when I was about to give up, I got an email from Simply Modular Furniture System asking me if I wanted to give their products a try.

At first I was a little reluctant, especially when I saw DIY in the description somewhere. But then I went through the catalog and saw how incredibly functional, durable and easy-to-build it was. It can seamlessly work in any room of the house and organize your things stylishly and efficiently. The best part: you can assemble and disassemble it to build different kinds of furniture–a shelf, cabinet, console table, closet, bed, desk, bench, and many more. It is pretty amazing, and I was (for the first time in my life) excited to build my own organizing space.

Simply Modular Furniture System started in Hong Kong, Japan and Korea, and has become a practical and affordable solution for many families who need to organize their lives. No doubt, it is a popular option for condo dwellers all around Asia, but as I found out it also works for big homes as it combines function, quality, design and value–with sustainability in mind. It is the first of its kind in the Philippines and I am proud to be among the first to try it.

This is how it works: Simply Modular is made of connectable panels that are self-assembled to form different types of furniture. They may be reused and morphed into different styles and sizes as needed. So that console can actually be turned into a bookshelf and then a closet after, depending on what you need at the moment.

Storing the panels takes up minimal space as they are flatly stacked in a box, and are easily transportable. All parts, made from high quality ABS plastic, are 100% waterproof, termite-proof, rust-proof, and can hold up to 200 kilos. This is such a great investment!

I love that Simply Modular does not require tools. This is such a huge deal for me because I really hate nails, screws and bolts! I can honestly say that this is super easy to build (I was able to do it) as it is done using an easy click-and-stack mechanism.

Simply Modular also works for kiddie rooms! They have a Kids Animal Panel that is a popular choice in nurseries, daycare centers, children’s locker rooms and play zones. Not only that, most offices have started using Simply Modular desks, cabinets and shelves as employees come and go. It can even be used in shower areas because it is waterproof.

Simply Modular sells Full Sets, Kids Animal Panel and add-on Accessories. The basic 6 SET forms one cube. Other full sets available are the 11 SET, 15+6 SET, 16 SET and 20 SET, with longer 727 mm panels and basic 320 mm panels. Both panel sizes have 20 mm thickness. One may select each panel color from the available swatches. Sophisticated furniture systems may be assembled by adding accessories such as door handles, clothing rail, shelves, etc. There’s no need to paint nor varnish.

So okay, I have proof that I built my own cabinet! Hahaha. Scroll down to see how easy it is to build Simply Modular furniture. I definitely had a fun and easy time building it and yay, I am super happy that I now have space for my things! Can I just say: the two other pairs of legs you see in the photos are my dad and brother’s. They were there to help but I shooed them away as I knew I could do it on my own. They ended up watching TV as I built my cabinet. <3
