Ride the movies at Universal Studios Singapore

Universal Studios Singapore is one of my favorite places to go to when I am in this city. I am a huge fan of amusement parks, and this one definitely tops my list. There are so many things to do here, you can literally spend the entire day and still have more things to do. Located in Asia Pacific’s No. 1 integrated resort – Resorts World Sentosa, Universal Studios Singapore features 24 rides, shows and attractions in seven themed zones, 18 of them original or adapted for Singapore.

I love that Universal Studios Singapore brings together the best of all Universal Studios theme parks (in case you didn’t know, there’s one in Hollywood, California; another in Orlando, Florida; and one in Osaka, Japan) with a pair of the world’s tallest dueling coasters, a castle from the world of Shrek, celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Betty Boop and more. And supporting the rides and attractions are 30 restaurants and food carts, as well as more than 20 retail stores and carts, so you can satisfy every craving while you explore the theme park.

I recently found out that Universal Studios Singapore boasts a collection of many world firsts (how cool is that): like the world’s biggest single collection of DreamWorks Animation attractions; the world’s first Far Far Away Castle from the world of Shrek; the world’s first Madagascar theme park ride; the world’s first Puss In Boots themed roller coaster; the world’s first TRANSFORMERS attraction! I mean, if these aren’t reason enough to visit this amazing place, well, I don’t know what will impress you haha!

Oooh, and apart from all the cool rides and yummy food, can I just say my favorite part is the celebratory atmosphere with the Hollywood Dreams parade, which features amazingly detailed floats, special effects, a custom musical score and fan-favorite characters alongside a colorful cast of over 100 performers. It really is a must-see while you are visiting Universal Studios Singapore.

Just blogging about this place brought back so many fun memories, so okay, please allow me to share the best ones from our last trip. Tristan enjoyed his time here so much, we had a hard time convincing him we were going home. (Don’t worry, my love, we will come back soon!)

Okay, so can I just share THE BEST things about Universal Studios Singapore at the moment? If you’re planning a trip here soon, do not forget about these! You have to go out and try it–your family will surely have a super fun time.

1. Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs. CYCLON. Themed after the hit television show, “Battlestar Galactica”. the world’s tallest pair of dueling roller coasters–one seated and the other, suspended, will propel thrill-seekers on several inversions, a zero-g roll, a Cobra roll, corkscrews, and vertical loops. The ride, the tallest of its kind in the world, takes 90 seconds to complete its 1 kilometer route. I had an amazing time when I tried this! WHAT A RUSH!!! I love roller coasters and this one was just insane!!! Oh and you have to try it now, because the ride features two-seater vehicles that bring riders closer to the experience!

2. MEET THE MINIONS.Here’s your chance to get despicably close to your favorite Minions and take photos with them. They are sooooo cute, and worth the photo op! I want Tristan to have a photo with them when we get back, especially from now till August 20th 2017, there is a Despicable Me Breakout Party happening for the first time ever in Universal Studios Singapore! This is super cool—guests can actually take part in fun games like the Minion Toss, Super Silly Space Killer and Minion Mishap, and yes, you can totally win Despicable Me merchandise! Apart from that, there is Rodney’s Rotten Game Show, which is held at the Hollywood Lagoon Stage (hosted by Rodney Rotten himself), which features performances by the Minions, lots of dancing, trivia contests and even a banana-eating competition! Oh and watch out for the surprise Minion Mob as the Minions break out of jail and head through the Hollywood zone with more than 20 performers. The fun does not end there as fans can get a temporary Despicable Me tattoo at the “tattoo parlor” (children under 12 get 1 free) and yummy pop-up Minion-themed stores that serve cupcakes and ice-cream all day! I am actually excited for this (must book plane tickets noooow)—the Despicable Me Breakout Party is included with regular admission to Universal Studios Singapore. Game stall vouchers are separately ticketed.

3. TRANSFORMERS: The Ride, The Ultimate 3D Battle. Get ready to experience this hyper-realistic 3D thrill ride, and be transported into the incredible world of TRANSFORMERS. Okay, not to give anything away buuuut: the fate of humanity hangs in the balance as villainous DECEPTIONS invade NEST headquarters to steal the ALLSPARK. And you’ve been volunteered to take it to safety and save our planet! This cool ride will allow you to race through the city, zip through subway tunnels, down city streets and across high-rise rooftops, and hang on for dear life. This is your chance to join OPTIMUS PRIme and the AUTOBOTS and become a freedom fighter in the ultimate 3D battle against the forces of evil. Must-ride THIS!!!!

There are many more things to do in Universal Studios Singapore, but these definitely top my list!
