I have always loved designing my own jewelry. I remember in the 90’s there were a couple of stores that did just that—you had to choose from hundreds of beads that were available and put them together to create your own unique design. The most popular ones at that time were alphabet beads, so you’ll be able to spell out your name on a necklace, bracelet or anklet (yes, anklets were hot at that time). I didn’t know why I wanted to announce my name to everyone that walked passed me, but hey, Carrie Bradshaw did it!
Those days are long gone (thankfully) and I’ve since moved on to more sophisticated jewelry. Precious stones have replaced wooden beads, and gold/silver outweighed nylon string. What remains the same though is my love for selecting elements in my jewelry.
Thomas Sabo is my latest retail discovery, and I cant seem to get enough of it. The brand has hundreds of pretty charms to choose from so you’ll be able to design necklaces and bracelets to suit your style. The last time I was at the store, I spent a good hour carefully choosing the perfect charms to put on my bracelet. It was all worth it though because I left the store with two adorable bracelets that I wear almost everyday.
How many charms do you see?

Though I love the silver bracelet, this black obsedian one caught my eye. Black obsedian is said to protect against negative energy. It also symbolizes self control and resilience.
My loot: a black obsedian bracelet with mother-of-pearl tooth and silver four-leaf clover charms.
I just had to get this too. A rose quartz version with a silver angel wings charm. Rose quartz is known as the love stone or the stone of universal love. It gives inner peace and helps in all matters pertaining to love.
