INTO IT: INFLATED/DEFLATED

Who say’s originality is dead?! Inflated/Deflated is a col­lab­o­ra­tive design project by three Chicago-based cre­atives Jillian Barthold, Lauren Connolly, and Kady Dennell, with pho­tog­ra­phy by Nathan Legsdin.

Each col­or­ful deflated bal­loon fea­tures a hand-lettered mes­sage rang­ing from the humor­ous to heart­felt. New addi­tions are updated via their blog, and prints of the pieces — which I have to say would make an amaz­ing graphic state­ment if you had a large wall to fea­ture a grid of them — are avail­able on Etsy.

Who would’ve thought deflated balloons could say so much? Sorry, I’m still used to the typical ‘Happy Birthday’ message! Which reminds me, two of my best friends just celebrated their birthdays.
