Christmas is just around the corner! This is really my favorite time of year. Apart from the gifts we give and receive, there is a noticeable change in everyone. People are genuinely nicer, and there seems to be a lot of holiday cheer going around. I love that lights and decorations are being put up, Christmas songs are being played around the clock and that it’s starting to get a little cooler at night.

My favorite Christmas memory will always be time spent with my sister and cousins. You see, when I was around seven or eight years old, my sister, Wendy, and cousins, KC, Angela and Stephanie formed an Alvin & the Chipmunks with the Chipettes tribute band (yes, I am talking about the popular 80’s cartoon that had unbelievably high pitched voices). We performed at family gatherings, and one time we did a concert during Christmas, which made it very memorable.

It was a lot of fun because we really took it seriously. We allotted a few weekends to practice the songs (we wanted our lip synch to look believable), did our research and followed hair/makeup and costumes to a tee, and of course, watched hours and hours of The Chipmunks series (to get into character). I played Eleanor, which was funny because I was the skinniest one in the group (and she was a chubby chipmunk), but I think I ended up becoming that Chipette because I was the youngest and I had her personality. Looking back, it felt really good to be part of something so cool (haha, yes, it was cool back then, it is still cool now). And really, there’s nothing like spending time with family.

Because of such happy memories I am all for celebrating the Christmas season. I love anything Christmas-themed, so when I see plates, trays and boxes with Santa or reindeer on them, I really have to stop myself from buying them (especially now that I’m decorating my house). What I didn’t expect though, was that I would begin to wear holiday-themed accessories. I visited my favorite Thomas Sabo store recently and found the most adorable charms to wear this season. Snowflakes, angels, ornaments and Santa were few of the new charms I saw at the store. I cant get over how cute they are! They are happy additions to my existing charm bracelet, and I love that I can mix and match them with my other charms. But don’t get me wrong, the Charm Club Holiday 2012 collection isn’t all Christmas-themed charms. There also have other pretty charms to suit your style: my favorites are the bulldog, purse and ballet flat charms.
