Clap! Clap! Clap! Big congratulations to our lovely Miss Universe candidate: Janine Tugonon. I have just finished reading some very angry, very amusing tweets about her not taking home the Miss Universe crown. I admit it was a huge letdown watching hosts Andy Cohen and Giuliana Rancic call out USA as the big winner, but lets keep things positive here and be happy that Janine was able to win First Runner Up for our country (we haven’t won this title in decades).

Here’s her amazing answer at the question-and-answer portion.

Q: As international ambassador, do you believe that speaking English should be a prerequisite for Miss Universe?

A: I dont think speaking English is about speaking a specific language. Being Miss Universe is about being able to influence and inspire people regardless of language.

I really think she deserved to win that crown! And I know millions of Filipinos feel the same way. But instead of sour-graping (I know I did for awhile) let us all welcome home our Miss Universe winner Miss Janine Tugonon with open arms!
