I have to admit, I was a little confused when one of my favorite shoe brands, MELISSA told me they were sending me three pieces of flats from their newest collection. At first I assumed they meant three pairs, but no, they made it clear that this collection didn’t come in pairs and that they were sending me three designs of my choice. I never owned shoes that didn’t come in a pair, so I was intrigued by this new idea for their collection.
It’s called ONE BY ONE, and these flats are sold individually, piece by piece and can be worn on either left or right foot. There are nine designs to choose from, and its up to you how you want to mix and match them to suit your style. I think this idea is pure genius, because you can buy all nine designs are end up with 81 pairs of shoes. Yes, 81! This is has to be the coolest thing ever! Of course, its designed in such a way that you can’t go wrong with choosing which goes with which. It is very 60’s or mod-inspired, comes in black and nude, with designs of stripes and polka dots. So really, you can select any two designs even with your eyes closed and you’ll end up with a pretty cool pair of flats. But of course, it would be better if you chose them with your eyes opened haha. Then you can really incorporate your style and be as creative or basic as you need to be.
The launch was loads of fun. We got to see all nine designs and pair/style them in different ways. And I got to hang out with my friends from the industry, who really are the nicest, smartest and prettiest ladies. They are, of course, Rissa Mananquil-Trillo, Patty Laurel-Filart, Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio, Daphne Osena-Paez, Jenni Epperson and Cheryl Tiu. Also, the Melissa girls were there too–it was great seeing you, Eleanor Co and Joanna Co-Fong! Congratulations! 🙂
MELISSA One By One are sold in individual units. Each costs P1,447.50 per shoe. If you must buy them in pairs, each pair costs P2,895.00. You can get them at all Geleia stores nationwide.
