How I get the best deals when I shop online
I love buffets! There’s something about having to choose from a wide array of food that appeals to me. I mean, think about it–there’s no commitment with a particular dish or cuisine nor is there any pressure from ordering (I hate it when the dish I order isn’t what I expected it to be). Plus you can go back as many times as you like, which means you can take your time and eat slowly. I think this is partly why I enjoy going on hotel staycations–because I get to enjoy the breakfast buffet in the morning.
Now, I’ve heard plenty of great things about Marriott Cafe, which was recently re-opened. News or feedback about restaurants tend to travel fast, thanks to social media and so far, people have good things to say about this resto. I had to try it out for myself, so I booked a reservation for two for lunch and gave their buffet a go.
I couldn’t have been happier. My lunch turned into a 3-hour indulgence, as I savored every one of my favorite dishes, including dessert! There were my go-to starters: cold cuts, cheese, bread and more cheese; then sushi and sashimi; super fresh seafood (crab and shrimp, yay); your choice of steak (ribeye, t-bone, etc), prime rib with sauces and sidings; Korean, Chinese and Filipino dishes; and amazing desserts like cakes, pastries, and pies; chocolate fondue and homemade ice-cream. I haven’t given in to my cravings like that since I was pregnant, so this truly was a memorable day.
I think this would be such a great venue for a family dinner or reunion. Everyone could have their favorites without having to order so many dishes at once! I also recommend it for date night, especially if you want to indulge with your husband (hey, it works for us).
