One thing I realized when I became a mom is that I love to sleep. I never really gave it a second thought before, but now–NOW I know it is soooo precious! That’s why I’ve made it a point to set-up our bedroom to make it as relaxing as possible. So we had our room painted a soothing grey color, added blackout curtains, invested in a memory foam bed topper, bought fluffy marshmallow pillows, and very recently, got amazing silky bedsheets.

It is perfect for our tropical weather because it keeps the body cool, and we all know that our body temperature goes up when we sleep so this is important. Next, there are two kinds of thread count: per square inch and per ten square centimeters. Of course, you’ll want the real thread count, which is the former, and that’s how Casa Romantica does their thread count (as you know, the higher the thread count, the more luxurious the fabric feels). I also found out that certain colors are better in different thread counts, like darker colors are better in 600-800, and lighter colors can go upto a thousand.

And lastly, a good set of linens are truly an investment for good comfortable sleep, and a beautiful bedroom. These are items that should be selected carefully and with quality in mind, as night after night they are partners in your important rest and repose. That’s what I recently learned: you get what you pay for, and bedsheets are not something you should be scrimping on. After all, we spend 1/3 of our lives in bed–we might as well treat ourselves to the bed of our dreams.
