It’s date night for all you couples celebrating Valentine’s Day! Woohoo! Carlos and I kind of did an early celebration–we ate out yesterday with Tristan and his yaya (that’s still counted, right). I know, I know, that hardly counts as a date but anyway I’m glad I was able to get out of the house and wear heels and earrings (can’t remember the last time I wore both). At this point, I’ll take any sort of break or celebration haha.
This outfit was thankfully super comfortable (just how I like it) and I was extra happy because I was able to breastfeed with ease. The top is from a new favorite online store of mine called Anika (follow them on IG: @wear_anika), the grid print midi skirt is from Details, blush heels from Charles & Keith, and earrings from another online store: Bauble Tree (IG handle: @baubletree).
Happy Valentine’s Day!
The top’s really cute! How were you able to breastfeed in this outfit?
I’m a new mom, and have been breastfeeding for a little over 3 months now but hardly go out. Now that I’m ready to go out again, I’m wondering if I can wear “normal” clothes and breastfeed without any problems instead of filling my closet with nursing clothes that I don’t really find attractive.
Any tips on staying fashionable while breastfeeding?
I’ve learned to improvise when wearing tops like these! I just pull up my shirt and breastfeed hehehe! 🙂 As long as I have my trusty cover I dont encounter any problems. What you need to buy is a cover that is big and wide enough to cover you. That way you can wear any top (I prefer loose, stretchy fabric) and be able to breastfeed with ease. 🙂
My suggestions for breastfeeding in style: stock up on button-down shirts – these provide easy access for breastfeeding, and you can still look dressed up; choose stretchy, breathable fabrics for tops – this way you can just lift your top and breastfeed; buy 2-3 plain nursing tops (I got plain t-shirts and sleeveless tops from elin.com) so you have these in rotation for everyday wear; and if you can find dresses with easy access (these can be v-neck or scoop necks) that would make life easy for you (wearing a dress means you dont have to match your top + bottom). Good luck with breastfeeding, momma! Hope these tips help! 🙂
Thanks for replying Kelly! These are really helpful tips, especially the breakdown of clothes to have in my closet. Do you have recommended brands?
Aside from clothes, do you have a favorite nursing bra brand and style?
My recommended brands are F21, Mango, H&M and Uniqlo. These are super affordable and you can get comfy stretchable styles for everyday wear. As for my favorite nursing bra, it has to be Mamaway! It used to be available online but I just checked it now they closed na. Marks & Spencer is also good! 🙂 Good luck!
Thank you! This has been super helpful. Mamaway is still online, by the way, if you’re interested. http://mamaway.com.ph/products/linegerie
