The Baby Barangay was invited to try the newest restaurant in Bonifacio Global City. It is called FUKUDAYA, and it offers a modern take on Japanese cuisine. This group of five (there’s Cat Juan-Ledesma, Patty Laurel-Filart, Nicole Hernandez-de los Angeles, Bianca Santiago-Reinoso and myself) happily dined here for lunch, and tried out the resto’s best dishes before it officially opened. We felt like VIPs as the private tasting was kept extra private (we were the only guests) and the dishes were specially prepared for us by their Japanese chefs.
There was no menu when we went, and the dishes didn’t have names yet but were explained one by one. Nevertheless, it was an exceptional meal. The girls and I ate so well. The dishes were fresh and delicious, but were also unique and inventive. I love how everything was prepared–their food looked and tasted so good! Our favorites were the sushi platter, the salad (Chinese cabbage with homemade mayonnaise), simmered pork belly with radish, garlic rice, and the raindrop dessert.
If you are looking for new restaurant to try, you must to go to Fukudaya. It is located at Ground Floor, Arya Residences Tower 1, McKinley Parkway, BGC. They just opened last August 1, 2016 so they will be serving tasting menus for the next couple of weeks (similar to what we tried).
