My Juicy Couture style

I recently did a shoot for Juicy Couture together with model/host/blogger/teacher Patty Laurel and celebrity/stylist Alyanna Martinez. And what can I say, shoots like these hardly feel like work. It was super fast and easy (not to mention fun). We just had to be ourselves while wearing our choice of Juicy Couture jackets and accessories. So for me, that meant drinking a cup of coffee while writing on my iPad. So easy. I think we were done in less than an hour (including makeup and hair).

My favorite part was choosing which Juicy Couture jacket should go with what accessory. I am into bright, punchy colors right now so I chose a cobalt blue jacket and paired it with a shocking pink bag. I love the way it turned out in the photos.

Anyway, I wanted to share the photos and the article that goes with it, so here it is:

CHIC AND COMFY CELEBRITY STYLE

Known for its delicious colors and comfortable tracksuits, Juicy Couture is a favorite closet staple even for Hollywood celebrities. In Manila, three stylish ladies show us how you can balance work and play and still look fabulous in doing so.

Model, host, actress, magazine editor and beauty columnist Kelly Misa keeps her wardrobe comfortable yet stylish. Describing her work wear as Casual Luxe, she’s drawn to luxurious and soft fabrics that aren’t fussy or high maintenance. “I’ve found that writing becomes so much easier when I don’t have to worry about my clothes. So on days off or when I need to write, expect me to be in a soft tee shirt, shorts or jeans and a plush jacket,” Kelly says. “I am perpetually cold and always need to feel comfy, my style must-have is the Juicy Couture hoodie in a bold color like cobalt blue,” she adds. Apart from juggling various activities, Kelly’s also busy preparing for her big day. “Lately it has been difficult to find time to plan the big day, but thanks to my best friends, it has been moving along smoothly. My fiancé has also been very supportive, and we always make sure all this planning doesn’t get the best of us,” Kelly states with a twinkle in her eye.

Looking at the fresh-faced Patty Laurel, one won’t easily think that she’s a college professor, “I teach a Media Elective at the Department of Communications in Ateneo,” she says with a smile. As a teacher, she tries to dress conservatively by wearing skinny jeans and ballet flats and complementing it with a dressy top and cardigan or jacket to inject a bit of her personal style. Aside from being a teacher, Patty is also a model, a lifestyle blogger and a professional events/TV host, “When I’m hosting and modeling, I like to keep things subtle and sexy by putting a more polished and fashion forward look.” Recently engaged, Patty says she’s blessed to have family and friends helping them from day one, “My fiancé and I are just enjoying the whole wedding planning process and taking it one day at a time,” she beams. When asked how she de-stresses after a long day, “I love to eat and try new restaurants with my fiancé or girlfriends,” Patty says with a grin, “On days when we just wanna stay in, I put on cute pajama pants and a tank top and add a cute and comfy hoodie for DVD marathons with my soon-to-be husband.”

For well-known stylist Alyanna Martinez, juggling 10 things at once which is a typical work day/ week for her, “My office is always mobile so a roomy and stylish bag that can fit all my essentials for the day, including my laptop, phone (with their chargers) and foldable flats I can easily change into if my toes are dying from running around in heels all day, is my style must have.” Pulling out clothes and working at shoots is no joke which is why Alyanna usually wears a long top with leggings and avoids outfits that are uncomfortable or cumbersome because it can greatly affect her job. She winds down, in her usual get-up of a cute hoodie, tank top and fitted skirt or leggings, by walking her cute dogs, catching the last screening at the cinema or call for a home spa service. A self-confessed fan of Juicy Couture, she even bought her first toy poodle a hoodie, vinyl raincoat and bag, “I like Juicy Couture because it’s young, fun and comfortable without having to compromise style. I have always been a big fan of their bags and accessories; I have been collecting all the juicy charms since I was in high school.”

In the Philippines, Juicy Couture is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) and is located at Greenbelt 5, Rustan’s Makati, and Rustan’s Tower.
