They are our unsung heroes. They risk life and limb on a daily basis in order to save those who are in distress at sea, and they do this without any recognition or acknowledgement. It is easy to forget they are out there when we are stuck on the daily grind in the city. But when we go out to sea, that’s when we really appreciate their presence. I guess the old adage, ‘out of sight, out of mind’ applies. It is important to remember though that they are out there, and they desperately need our support.
