What I Wore: Esquire Ball

Last month was the second Esquire Ball, and I was determined to have something to wear. So instead of leaving it up to chance like I normally do, I asked help from celebrity stylist Sidney Yap. Sidney showed me a couple of gowns he thought I would like, but it was this deep fuchsia velvet number from Chris Diaz that won me over.

What I liked most about the dress is that it was very comfortable. I’ve always liked wearing velvet because it feels great against the skin, but it hasn’t been back in style for years so I never had a chance to wear it again (until that evening). Also, I loved how sheer the back and sides were—it was quite sexy without really showing too much skin. And lastly, the color just made my skin pop. It must be the contrast, I’m not quite sure, but my skin tone looked great in this.

Anyway, I just wanted to share to you this amazing gown by Chris Diaz, and thank Sidney Yap for styling me, John Pagaduan of Shu Uemura for doing my makeup and Bea Misa of Kiehl’s Stylist Series for my hair. I had a great night, thanks to you guys!
