Preview Best TRESsed Ball

This post is LONG OVERDUE! Preview Best Dressed Ball happened a few weeks ago, but I wanted to wait for better photos. I’m glad I was patient, because these look amazing (thank you to Claire Algarme for sending these)! My trusty smartphone would never be able to produce photos like these (also I didn’t want to lug around a big camera that night).

The event was sponsored by TRESemme, so I definitely had to be there. It was so much fun to see so many friends and acquaintances dressed to the nines that night, I couldn’t help but feel giddy. The theme was DANCING SHOES, which sounds pretty vague at first, but when you think about it, you actually have the freedom to dress however way you wanted. If you wanted to dress like a dance icon or be inspired by a genre of dance, you could do it.

I was inspired by Audrey Hepburn from the movie Funny Face, mixed with 50’s Dior fashion. Joey Samson did an EXCELLENT job, as he was able to create what I wanted without looking too costume-y. I thought his take was stylish and modern (plus these are separates, so I can wear the top and the skirt on different occasions). Again, THANK YOU Joey, and congratulations (he was part of the Best Dressed List along with another fave designer, Ivar Aseron. Congrats to you both)!!! Also, a million thanks to Jing Monis Salon for doing my makeup and hair that night. It was my first time to work with Joyce Seludo but she got my face right away. My hair was by Ms. Lourdes–so effortless how she did my Veronica Lake-inspired hairstyle!

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Preview magazine and this year’s roster of Best Dressed fashion icons!!! 🙂
