I am so happy and proud of my two friends, Rissa Mananquil-Trillo and Jacqe Yuengtian-Gutierrez for starting their very own cosmetic brand called Happy Skin. I’ve known these ladies for many years now, and I have to say, they are the best people to trust with something as major as makeup. Rissa has been a model for more than a decade now, and is very particular with the brands she endorses. She has also been a beauty columnist for many years, which makes her an expert when it comes to beauty. Jacqe too is an expert in her own right. She handled a well-known skincare brand for a good number of years, and knows the beauty industry inside and out. Her forte is skincare, too, so you can leave it up to her to find a way to combine makeup with skincare, which is what sets Happy Skin apart from other makeup brands.
Yes, Happy Skin contains the best skin-loving ingredients, such as Japanese tea leaf, cherry blossom, hyaluronic acid and argan oil, to name a few. And their products are all made in Japan, as the duo recognizes the country’s standards when it comes to producing makeup/skincare. I got to try a few of their products and was very impressed by it. The quality was above par, and the makeup glided so well. I didn’t doubt it though, as I knew Jacqe and Rissa would make sure their makeup would be the best it could be.
Knowing that Filipinas are getting more and more particular about their skincare, Happy Skin augments a working regimen with complexion-nourishing makeup. “The reason why we started Happy Skin is because we’re firm believers in good skincare, and we don’t like compromising our skin because of the makeup that we use,” says founder Jacqe Yuengtian-Gutierrez. Cofounder Rissa Mananquil-Trillo echoes the same: “Truly good makeup should be your ally—not your enemy—in making you look and feel more beautiful.” (Press release)
