Late post: Cream Silk Hair Sonata

I don’t remember the last time I watched a symphony orchestra–this might have been my first, not counting the ballets I watched as a kid that had live orchestras (I used to dance ballet). This made it such a unique experience, so different from all the other events I’ve attended. But there was a special reason behind this, and it was, believe it or not, to demonstrate the power of hair, thanks to Cream Silk. The number one haircare brand in the Philippines collaborated with internationally renowned bowmaker, Archetier Paul S.J. Goh, to create Asia’s First Human Hair Violin Bow, using human hair that was strengthened and treated with Cream Silk Conditioner. I found this to be amazing, because I’ve seen how a violin is played, and it really requires hair to be super strong for it to be used on a bow, and to last an entire symphony!

The Cream Silk Hair Sonata is the world’s first hair symphony orchestra, and it was for me, a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of beauty, music and art through the biggest and most beautiful demonstration of hair strength in the world. The performance was headlined by the Hair Symphony Orchestra, a 42-piece Orchestra, featuring a 10-member female string ensemble, all using the human hair violin bows. Maestro Gerard Salonga of the renowned ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra conducted the symphonies for the evening. Complementing the Hair Orchestra’s serenades were performances by Ballet Philippines as choreographed by Alden Lugnasin, and the premiere of an all-new, all-original short film by director Gus Cruz featuring Cream Silk muse, Sam Pinto. It was an incredible night–the Cream Silk Hair Sonata proved that not only can strong hair be seen, now it can be heard.
