Hello, 35!

35 years old. I cant believe I am in my mid-thirties. It just sounds so… old. I mean, back when I was a kid I couldn’t even imagine what 35 would be like. I think I was too concerned with how my 20s was going to pan out that I didn’t think that far ahead. I guess it makes sense. Life in your 20s is supposed to be exciting and full of possibilities. It is your chance to make your mark in the world and you can have as much fun as you want while doing it. While your 30s is when you slow down, settle down and have babies, at least that’s how it is over in this part of the world.

Now that I am married with one child I definitely feel the need to narrow down my goals and focus my energies on just a few things. That’s basically family life and work, and if there’s time, maybe I can squeeze in time for friends, exercise and eating right. No more taking my sweet time shopping, going out at night and doing nothing. These days, it feels like there aren’t enough hours in a day to do everything I need to do, yet I don’t feel that my schedule is as busy as it was in my 20s. Being a full-time mom eats up most of my time, so everything else takes a backseat. Thankfully, I still get to do some work and take some time for myself. It is nowhere near enough, but it will do (for now). Hopefully as Tristan gets older (like when he goes to school) I can get some time back for myself. In the meantime, it is all about motherhood!

Life is far from perfect, but there are many things to be grateful for. My family and I have good health, we live comfortably and we enjoy each other’s company. Of course, there are the everyday squabbles and the little mishaps and challenges, but these are the things that make life interesting. It can be difficult and even infuriating at times, but it can also be wonderful and fulfilling. Overall, I am happy and content as I am happily married and I have the sweetest, most lovable baby. Work has been a bit slow, but projects and campaigns are still coming in through my blog and social media accounts. Our happy family still gets to travel and enjoy life, and we get to be around each other all the time. I really cant ask for anything more, and I am definitely looking forward to what my mid-thirties have in store for me.

Happy birthday to me!
