5 reasons to stay at BE Grand Resort Bohol

A few months ago, my little family was in Bohol for my travel show, #TrendingWithKelly. I had been to Bohol many times before, but this trip was particularly memorable because I finally got to see the different attractions and spots that made Bohol world-famous (read: my top 6 best things to do in Bohol HERE). We stayed in BE Grand Resort Bohol for about a week, which really gave us a chance to enjoy their rooms, dining options, and amenities. It was my first time to stay in this resort, so I got to see the place with a fresh pair of eyes, and experience what makes this establishment different from the rest.

First off, the resort is situated on the exclusive oasis of Panglao Island, which, in my option, is the best place to be stationed in when you’re vacationing in Bohol. This means you are close to the best restaurants and dive spots, and you have full-access to island hopping adventures and beaches. I have to mention though, that the property of the resort is huge, so it might be good to enjoy the first few days lounging and relaxing here, and of course, trying out their restaurants (they have five restos and bars to choose from). I didn’t realize how big this resort was until we began shooting all around the property. I kind of got lost the first few times navigating my way around, until I eventually remembered what routes to take, which was I think on my second or third day.

BE Grand Resort Bohol feels like your home away from home. It has a laid-back vibe and contemporary design that is inviting and familiar. It has a great mix of modern aesthetics and a homey feel that is just so relaxing. You can choose from four accommodation types: (1) the Deluxe Room comes complete with a great view of the sea and pool, while the (2) Deluxe Aqua and (3) Deluxe Oceana rooms have balconies that might overlook the pool or shore. Then you have the (4) Oceana Suite, which is where we stayed, that is furnished with a living area, pantry, and a work station. I loved how Carlos and I had the privacy of our own room, while Tristan’s nanny had her own space. And can I just talk about the bathroom–it was huge! It had nice big sliding doors that revealed a spacious dressing area, a bathtub and a shower, and of course, a separate toilet. I need so much space when I get ready for my show, because I bring in a lot of clothes (which I prefer to hang), and I do my own hair and makeup. This was especially nice to have–I really enjoyed the luxurious space of this bathroom.

Then, there are the complete amenities–BE Grand Resort Bohol has a gym, pools, five restaurant and bars, and get this: a diving center where you can prepare for your exploration of Panglao Island’s famous underwater attractions. This is a great way to get introduced to diving, as it comes complete with a dive pool, a certified instructor and classes to guide you through the fundamentals of scuba diving. While I didn’t get to try it this time around, my husband Carlos did the course and he really enjoyed himself.

Internationally recognized and nominated for Travel and Leisure brands such as tripadvisor, Condé Nast Johansens and World Luxury Hotel Awards, BE Grand Resort Bohol is a trusted destination for the discerning traveller. My family and I really had a great time here. I have to say that although we were there for work, it didn’t feel like it thanks to the impressive rooms, great food, and heartfelt service.

Allow me share with you five things I love about Be Grand Resort Bohol.

1.) There’s so much space to explore, play and enjoy.

One thing that impressed me about BE Grand Bohol is how expansive the property is.  There is really so much space for you to lounge and relax–all you need to do is find a spot. And while they don’t have a long stretch of white sand beach, they more than make up for it by setting up beach chairs and cocoon beach beds all over the place. Choose one with a gorgeous view of the ocean and you’re set–really, all you need is a good book and an order of your favorite cocktail. Of course, I didn’t get to do that during our stay here, as it was all work and no downtime for this momma. But at least my husband Carlos and my toddler Tristan got to enjoy themselves. They explored the ocean during low tide, built sandcastles, and used one of the cocoon beach beds as a fort.

2.) BE Grand Resort Bohol offers excellent rooms to fit the whole family.

From rooms that come complete with a view to suites and villas to fit the entire family, BE Grand Resort Bohol offers accommodations to suit your needs. Our little family stayed in a nice little villa (it was more like a little house, really) that came complete with a living space, kitchenette, master’s bedroom and bathroom, and an extra room and bathroom on the second floor. This allowed my family to sleep and move around comfortably, as Tristan’s nanny had her own space. Oh, and we loved that the living room opened up to a private patio with pool access. The resort was really well-designed as it gave each villa access to the pool, which Tristan loved!

3.) Rooftop lounges, beachfront bars, poolside restos–they offer so many relaxing spots. Take your pick!

I love that BE Grand Hotel Bohol always have their guests in mind. They made it a point to create lounges and bars that serve unique cocktails and refreshments to allow you enjoy your vacation. There is the Bridge, which can be found at the center of the pools, where they serve an irresistible array of sandwiches, salads, soups, pizza and pasta along with an international selection of beer, wine and spirits; there’s The Monkeybar, that features al fresco dining on grilled items, sandwiches, light snacks and cool refreshments underneath the shade of ancient mangrove trees; and the Lune, an alfresco lounge where you can catch the best sunset with panoramic views of the sea–a great place to have tapas and cocktails.

4.) BE Grand Resort Bohol can arrange your island hopping tours for you, and they even have their own jetty for easy pickup and drop off.

When in Bohol, you need to go out and explore its incredible beaches, abundant marine life and breathtaking islands, and the good news is the resort can arrange everything for you. You can plan practically any kind of tour with the front desk, and they can help you maximize your stay in Bohol so you get to see all its sights and attractions. Land tours can also be arranged, as they have cars and vans ready to take you to where you need to go (Alona Beach, Chocolate Hills, Tarsier Sanctuary, etc.). Also, one thing that made our island hopping experience super convenient was the floating jetty that allowed our team easy access to speedboats and local boats (bangka). No need to drive out by car to where the boats are parked–they can go to you. Also, ask if the hotel can provide food for your trip. They arranged for us to bring packed breakfast and lunch for our island hopping tour and it made our lives so much easier (plus the food was so good).

5.) They offer so many dining options! My favorites: The Boathouse and The Food Hall.

Food is never a problem in this resort. After all, they have five restaurants to cater to your every craving. I love how many options they have at The Food Hall, which is an all-day dining restaurant that serves authentic and contemporary Filipino and Chinese cuisine. This is where guests go for breakfast, which is usually a big buffet with lots of variety. For lunch and dinner, you can order ala carte dishes, but most of the time they have buffets, too. Then, there’s The Boathouse, which is seasonal (it is usually open for private functions and events). BE Grand Resort Bohol hosted a few lunches and dinners here during our stay and they were always so delicious. No doubt, we were spoilt during our stay here, which is always the case with all of their guests.

What a relaxing work week that was! Our team, #TrendingWithKelly had the best time shooting our episodes here and my little family got to enjoy while momma was busy shooting, which means the world to me. We were treated so well here, thanks to their well-trained staff who were all so accommodating, attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back!
