Futureworld opens in the Philippines

My MacBook has served me well. I bought it in Hong Kong back in 2006 and thought it was the best thing ever (well, I still do). It saw me through hours of arranging photos and music and late night online shopping. It was there for me when I began my career in beauty writing, and has been my constant companion through these months of blogging.

Its battery has already died on me, as well as its replacement I bought a few years after. This means my laptop needs to be plugged at all times, which really defeats the purpose of having a laptop. And from over-cleaning I broke its keyboard. My OCD got the best of my poor MacBook, as I (accidentally) soaked some parts of it with water (I know, really smart on my part) trying to scrub out the discoloration that really just came with age. My MacBook was white and I was obsessed with keeping it looking new. I found a solution for it though, in the form of a wireless Bluetooth keyboard.

You can say I really got my value for money with this investment. If only I could keep my beloved MacBook, I would. If not for its slow memory and my need to be more efficient (I keep staring at that damn color wheel), I would keep it forever. But, like all technology, we need to move on with the times.

The opening of Singaporean retail brand Futureworld came just in the nick of time. I need a new laptop (or perhaps a desktop) and I want to get a good deal for it. This newest Apple reseller recently opened in Metro Manila and it aims for nationwide expansion. It opened its first two branches this year, one in SM City Masinag and another in SM Bicutan.

I was invited to the opening of the one in SM Masinag, and I got to learn more about the latest Mac products to suit my requirements (speed, storage capacity and portability top my list). I was drawn to how light and thin MacBook Air was, but I really loved the display screen of the iMac. Though I have to admit I still haven’t bought my new toy (the whole of November was Mercury Retrograde – not a good time to make big purchases), I am glad I know where to go to buy Mac products.
