Of the four signature restaurants in Solaire Resort, this is my favorite. Finestra, which means “window” in Italian, is hands-down, one of the best looking restaurants in Metro Manila, and their dishes are outstanding. It features traditional Italian specialties using the finest ingredients (90% of which are flown directly from Italy), which gives it a real, authentic taste. Their handcrafted pizzas and pasta dishes are definitely worth the visit. My family and I enjoyed these, as well as their steak, which was cooked to perfection.
I have to say, the restaurant looks gorgeous. The attention to detail is just insane, and from what I was told, the furniture, chandelier, plates/cutlery, as well as most of the materials used for the interiors were all sourced from Italy.
Symmetry.
Complementary bread and dip. These were delicious, and served warm.
Truffle pasta sampler, sent over by the chef. Delicious.
Upon entering the restaurant, you will be greeted by this well-stocked bar. Ask your server what wine to pair with your meal, they have quite a selection.
Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio with herbs and truffle oil scent (P800). I haven’t had carpaccio in awhile so this was a treat. The meat was so soft, it literally melted in my mouth. This was perfection.
Formaggi (P740). Four cheese pizza at its best. It included Bufala mozzarella, ricotta, Asiago and parmigiano cheeses. The crust was a little too thick for my taste, but the rest of the pizza was heavenly.
You have to admire the white marble open kitchen. I mean, wow, it looks so good! All the dishes are prepared here.
Calamari Fritti (P900). I was craving for calamari that night so I ordered this. Such a good call, because the salt and pepper deep-fried squid was soft and tender and the batter tasty and perfectly paired with caper remoulade and lemon.
Since we ordered steak, our server had us choose our knives. I went for the red wooden one.
These chandeliers are just so pretty. This restaurant is the perfect place to celebrate an important occasion.
Fiorentina (P6300). This was the star of the evening. A grilled t-bone steak with Sicilian sea salt. It was so delicious, and cooked to perfection. Carlos and I love steak, so this was a winner for us. It is huge, so 2-3 persons can share it.
What a feast. We had happy bellies after.
A closer look at the kitchen. Panna Cotta (P320). For dessert, I had a strawberry panna cotta. Light and sweet, the perfect way to cap off the night.
