A new pizza place just opened at the Fort, and it is so good

An iconic restaurant chain from the United Kingdom is now here in Manila, bringing its authentic, fresh and made-to-order Italian-inspired pizzas for us to enjoy. Of course, I am writing about Pizza Express, which is now open in Uptown Mall at Fort Bonifacio. For those of you who are not familiar with the pizza brand, well, the first restaurant opened in Wardour Street, London in 1965, and has become one of the most successful restaurant brands with more than 500 restaurants in 13 countries across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. And yay, it is now here in the Philippines!

I remember the first time I tried Pizza Express–it was in Hong Kong and it was love at first bite for me. I absolutely loved their unique handmade pizzas, fresh salads and pastas. And every time I would find myself in HK, I would really try to make time to eat there. Well, now I don’t need to wait so long to have a slice or two of their pizzas, because they are here! I know, I know, I am still on Keto so I cant really have carbs, but for this day I broke my diet to be able to enjoy one of my favorite pizzas again.

Now, what exactly should you order in Pizza Express, especially if you’re dining there for the first time? Definitely their signature dishes like Calabrese Pizza, which is their Iconic Rectangular Pizza (made with ‘nduja sausage and Calabrese sausage with red chili, Roquito pepper, roasted peppers, mozzarella and tomato, buffalo mozzarella, rocket, pesto and Gran Milano cheese) and Dough Balls (served with garlic butter and pesto dips); Leggera Superfood Salad (a superfood mix of light mozzarella, avocado, roasted pumpkin, beetroot, lentils, cucumber, baby spinach, mixed leaves, pine nuts, basil and balsamic syrup); Spaghetti Frutti Di Mare and Liguria Pizza (a different take on pizza, with prawns, mussels, squid, clams, capers, olives, anchovy paste, breadcrumbs, garlic, parsley, lemon and béchamel sauce–this doesn’t have mozzarella and tomato sauce but is so good). For dessert, try their Tiramisu and again their Dough Balls but with Nutella, you wont be disappointed.
